Diffusers can be complicated and a hassle. But, with the hundreds of diffusers out there some of them are bound to have the features you’re looking for and be easy to deal with.
What we are looking for in a good diffuser is something that is easy to use (and clean) that also fills a room with essential oils scents quickly!
We’ll see how the Urpower Essential Oil Diffuser held up.
Right out of the box this device was easy to set up. It holds about 100 ml of water and ran for about six hours.
The device setup was only having to plug it into the wall. But, there were some confusing instructions on how the outlet shouldn’t use a cord of a higher voltage.
If you just use the cord that comes with it, you’re in good shape. The Urpower is a second generation device and comes with a lot of features that we have seen on the newer diffusers coming out.
Its feature is listed as “whisper quiet” but it goes above and beyond expectations. There isn’t a hiss when it sends the stream up during its intermittent setting and stays quiet all-night if running continuously until it runs out of the water.
- Uses ultrasonic technology to disperse microparticles of the essential oils into the air.
- 100ml water reserve
- Auto-shut off to protect the diffuser
- Runs for about 6 hours
- 7 different light colors
These features are quickly becoming standard for most diffusers. How the Urpower delivers though is what sets it apart in some areas, and leaves you wanting more in others.
- Mist can run without the light
- The light options can rotate, or be a single color and have bright or dim options.
- If running at the intermittent setting it can last for close to eight hours.
- Auto-off feature
- The 100 ml water tank is okay for an all night run when it’s on the intermittent setting, but not for continuous use.
- No timer for shut-off
An overnight run with lavender is really enjoyable and wanting that continuous mist stream is something you could be missing out on.
The best feature is that you can run the mist settings without the light. Although you can still see the power light this is a feature we haven’t seen in many other diffusers.
Auto-off is also a great function that can severely extend the life of any diffuser. If you leave anything that runs on water on and empty you’re asking for bad news!
The Urpower Essential Oil Diffuser second generation has hit on all of the major features we expect from a good essential oil diffuser except the water capacity. The 100 ml water reserve is more of a portable option.
If you’re looking for something that can cover a small bedroom, nursery, or home office this could be a perfect size though!
For an introductory step into essential oils, or diffusers this is a good choice. There are a lot of standard features that the Urpower delivers really well on.
The option of having a larger water reserve would be great but this device can definitely run comfortably for 6 hours with the intermittent misting option, and sometimes you can get eight out of it.
The big difference that we saw feedback on is that this diffuser creates a lot more mist than the first generation. Another consistently mentioned benefit from other users was that it works very well to mildly add humidity to the air.
One of the repeated comments we saw that wasn’t so great was that it continued to tip over. Keep this in mind when you’re deciding where to place the diffuser!
Some Helpful Tips and Tricks!
Since this is an ultrasonic diffuser you can definitely use tap water but be sure to clean it periodically with distilled water.
It is also highly suggested to place it on top of a small dish towel. So that way if it does tip over it won’t be too messy.
Our Final Say
This is an excellent option for your first diffuser or if you’re looking for a diffuser to work in a small space. We can see this being a staple in a nursery or home office!
