Banana Granola Smoothie

The littlest love in my house and I were leaving the gym the other day when this smoothie listed on the LifeCafe sign caught my eye. Banana and granola? Together in a smoothie? I MUST try.  It was good, if you love bananas like we do. The addition of granola gave it a bit of crunchy texture - which was unexpected, in a delicious kind of way.

It seemed like destiny to have received a little container of new #Chobani 2% banana Greek yogurt that very same week, so today we embarked on a journey to recreate it at home with our own ingredients. The gal behind the counter at the gym said they used only bananas, protein powder, ice, and milk. I think the addition of Greek yogurt in ours makes it a lot creamier and sorry to say, more tasty than our gym counterpart.

Ingredients:

1 ripe banana
1 6oz. container #Chobani 2% Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup granola
2 scoops vanilla protein powder (optional)
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or any milk you have)
4 ice cubes

Place the banana, yogurt, granola, protein powder (if using), vanilla, and almond milk in a blender. Blend until combined. Open the blender lid and add 4 ice cubes, more if you like it thicker. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve with a large barreled straw to ease consumption :)

Optional: Make it pretty when serving by garnishing your smoothie with granola and sliced bananas.

Optional as well - make the smoothie extra thick, so your sweet little has to work extra hard to get it up the straw, revealing the sweetest looking dimples I've ever seen.

  4. After seeing your blog last week, I went looking for the banana Greek yogurt at my local store this weekend, only to be disappointed. I'll keep looking, but I hope Chobani banana gets to my store SOON! I LOVE bananas! Now I can't wait to try this recipe.
