#TopChef Seattle: A Sushi Challenge for Sarah

bravo, top chef

#TopChef Seattle really packed a lot of YUM into their latest episode. Did you see it?

The episode started off with a Quickfire Challenge featuring sushi - the cleanest and freshest of foods if you ask me. I myself tried sushi for the first time this year and I must say I am completely in love. My favorite? The Picasso Roll: spicy yellow tail mix, avocado, jalapeno, cilantro, togarashi, sriracha, and yuzu ponzo.  I can't tell you what half of those ingredients are, but what I do know is that it's beautiful, delicate, and spicy! Afterwards, I love to put out the fire with a rock coconut mojito. So good, right down to the rock candy stirring stick.

Now it seems I got a little off track in that foodie fantasy...let's get back to episode 12...

During the Elimination Challenge, cheftestants were asked to interpret and prepare fried chicken for a not-in-any-way-intimidating dinner for eight chefs. Yes, EIGHT professional chefs! I would have served them sweaty chicken with an extra side of sweat!  My favorite moment was when Chef Brooke had to serve her chicken to two former applicants to her restaurant. Yikes. Pile on some more sweat!

The best thing about #TopChef is that I find it gives me the inspiration to try new things like the Ginger-Infused Honey I made last week. Did you try it? PHEnominal!  After this episode, I had my sights set on making my own sushi at home. And I did! See these simple instructions by clicking on this photo:

Making sushi was simple! And I owe it all to Top Chef!
