I still have two flavors of my Chobani kitchen creations to share with you, but since it's Friday, and kind of technically a lazy day, I'm going to share with you the quick way I use up leftover yogurt in my house! Disclaimer: it's FAR from innovative, but I'm still going to put it out there ;)
I had some leftover black cherry from Black Cherry Cheesecake Swirl Chocolate Cupcakes {yum!} and pineapple from my Creamy Chobani Tropical Fruit Dip {delish!} just chillin in the fridge. My kids LOVE smoothies, and these rainbow ones are named because we throw in a large couple of handfuls of organic spinach and watch them disappear as they whirl around the blender with the other ingredients. It used to be a secret {the spinach}, but since you can't taste it, they really don't care anymore and find it kind of cool they are drinking their veggies.
To make ours, we take a couple cups of assorted frozen fruit and throw them in my Ninja blender. Here I have raspberries {red}, blackberries {which I call purple, but the boys call black}, blueberries {blue}, mango {orange}, pineapple {yellow}, and spinach {green}. I add one fresh ripe banana {more yellow}, about 1/2 to 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and 4 heaping large spoonfuls {maybe 1/2 cup} of Chobani Greek yogurt in any flavor. If I have vanilla protein powder lying around, I will throw that in there as well. Blend ingredients together and serve!
{You can add more almond milk if the smoothie is too stiff, and more fruit if it's runny! I make these so often that I just toss in ingredients I have on hand without measuring much. Which doesn't really help you now, does it?}

My son has eating issues and won't touch meat, vegetables or fruit..luckily he is able to eat smoothies so i can put fruit and protein powder in the blender and he is good to go. I'll look for Chobani next time I am at the store, the extra protein in Greek yogurt would be a good boost for us.
ReplyDeleteYum. I love smoothies, though I have never been brave enough to add spinach to them. I do love spinach, it just seems to go against reason to mix it with fruit. Chobani should be happy with yet another delicious recipe you created.
